Today marks 14 days (two full weeks) stranded on a remote coastal island with nothing but dirty underwear to eat, parts of a 2014 Toyota Prado laying about and two empty coconut shells which serve as a makeshift dishwasher.
We have a trained parrot which whilst at the start was very good fun and really quite entertaining, he has since become a real pain in the arse - he is always demanding use of the van mat for his daily yoga routine - and we suspect he is the cause of the "missing chocolate biscuits" incident. At least thats my story and Im sticking to it !
Anyway, if that was our real life it would be more interesting. It has in fact been a lazy morning as we honestly are a bit tired from the kitchen work. We are however really enjoying it.
Today started with Allie wanting a turn to empty the toilet cassette (crazy woman).
Taking the full toilet cassette to the dump point - we call it "the walk of shame".
She has a new appreciation for what she eats and moreso what not to eat!
Photo or it didn't happen right?
Other tasks today - I need to test the drone. At Attie falls the other day I flew the drone up and it took off with a mind of its own - directly into the waterfall and hit the rock cliff, it came out and flew straight towards us full speed.
As there was a large cliff drop behind us I used my quick thinking mind and put my hand up to catch it (going full speed). Thankfully I have the reactions of a new born gazelle.
Only minor cuts. Anyway, the 'hand blade' incident shut down the drone.
I am sure it is fine, but I decided not to fly it in a scary spaces again until I knew it was going to behave itself.
Now we have a few days off from the Kitchen, I have started working on our movie - its a real laugh once it gets going - the story of an idiot and a chef and a busted Prado - theres a back story to many of the things you may have seen in the blog and we think we have about 8+ 10 minute episodes full of info, giggles, scares and just plain silly stuff.
Episodes 1, 2 and 3 are now up - see below
