As at 14 September.
We have heard from Toyota. Our first proactive and written communication in 54 days !
It took an angry and very direct letter to Toyota HO to get some action.
It seems Toyota except responsibility and will pay about $9700, of the total 15k approx.
We have opted to replace the Turbo, Alternator and the Timing Belt while the engine is apart.
No timeframe at this stage, but we know all the parts are in stock onsite currently (incl the block).
We have queried the figures only to find that the numbers still just don't add up in the quote detail.
After again escalating to Toyota Head Office, we now finally have an ESTIMATE date for the truck to be completed - 7/9/2022. They just wont give a fixed date.
We just don't have the info we need to know what we are paying for - so we expect to take legal action. We wont really know until we pick it up.

Is it just us ??? It seems not -- here are public reviews of how Toyota operates Really quite shocking.
