As per usual the stuff we planned - we went in a different direction - today it was awesome.
We decided we would not got to the Tully show day, just too many Cows - nobody likes lots of cows !
So we headed out for another self torturous bush walk to Attie Falls.
Gorgeous, bit chilly but we did get in for a swim around - totally croc free, if you did see a croc up here it would have to have a backpack - and not be a terrorist.
Photo or it didn't happen right ? ..
We then drove to Dead Horse Creek. There was no Dead Horse, howver there was a nice small waterfall and swimming hole.
Then on the way home we sought out a good food place for our next "eat out" night.
Funny thing - we found the "Country Club", looked good and nobody but the chef was there.
A Maori woman from - would you believe it Wanganui/Castlecliff (where I was born). She has been a chef for 48 year and all of her staff has been killed off by Covid.
Allie and I offered our services - so it turns out we'll both be working at the Country Club from 11am Sunday. We get a ride to work, and she very kindly offered us a space on her property to put our van once the RACQ runs out. She was really lovely, and it looks like we'll be able to help her out of a bind also.
Needless to say Allie is looking forward to being a real "Chef Allie". We cant wait - its very exciting.
I suspect with Allies cooking skills - this lady will never let us leave!
That is amazing. Such a small world. You will have to send photos of the club. Nice to think you will be working together. Someone us watching over you and leading you in a certain direction talk about the greatest adventure ever You never know what us round the corner with you two. The falls looked a great place. You are both gluttons fir punishment regards the walking Good luck fir Sunday.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful how you two have turned a negative into a positive. Enjoy your freedom, new experiences, new people. My dad used to say 'you never know your luck in a big city.' Well, looks like that applies to small Aussie towns, too! Keep on smiling. Dad (aka Frank).
ReplyDeleteThat's soo cool for you guys & as you may remember or not Darren, I'm also from Wanganui. What a small work df. What's the ladies name? Sounds like she may be around my age. 😜 My maiden name is Holman, first marriage, Sturzaker.
