A trip into Tully today for us ....
We have felt uneasy chasing Toyota when we are really waiting for them to cover the costs, so we popped into Tully today under the guise of grabbing some meds from the glovebox. They gave us an update that it is booked to be "looked at" for 1 August. They are looking for specific pistons to see if my model had them installed or not (they will have specific model mark on them) - so this really could go either way.
But no further info. They collected some information from us about the truck, and we met the mechanic.
Tully has the Big Gumboot (NZ Taihape equiv) it is the wettest part of Aussie. This Gumboot is 8m tall and the floods have reached the very top in the past..
Drove out to Tully Heads and Hull Boat ramp. Ususal make you "feel Welcome" sign at the Hull Boat Ramp, but an awesome little river mouth.
On thre way back we found this little church stuck in the middle of all the cane.

Remote Beach at Edmund Kennedy Girramay National Park.
We detoured out here down a very nondescript road and walked on the beach. We ran into a couple we met at the falls and talked for an hour or so. Very odd - it was so remote - and they were way down the beach also.
Great size gumboot. We really needed a pair here today. Very wet and cold. Zeus still insisted on a walk and we arrived back home very wet indeed. Fingers crossed regards Toyota. I think you would be safer having them see to your vehicle rather than your sounds like unfriendly mechanic close by.xx
