Today we visited Wallaman Falls - read below - big blog alert
Last night we went out for dinner. First time since our landing in Cardwell 'drown our sorrows' dinner.
A very funny and bizarre place. Honestly I said to Allie we are having dinner in a "Disco Alternate Dimension"
Its owned and run my a one armed man, with a very cheesy and creepy grin. I'll not name the place out of respect to him being able to find further victims lol
I had pork ribs - clearly from a very small piglet!.
Allie had the "Ba" part of a Barramundi - must have been tiny.
Hygiene was not as important as serving tiny meals clearly
Allie dared me to dance under the Disco Ball - I said no way am I going to be the first person in history to actually dance here - and in front of a one armed owner, with dry ice mist. OMG woman are you crazy !
However, I danced at the table, and you'll have to wait for our video to see that ! (we plan to have a full video of our trip North when we get there - or home which ever comes first).
Allies Job as a barmaid is slightly delayed (Im sure they have heard the rumours about her and Tequila).
Actually the person is charge has been off sick - as have half the camp workers as Covid seems to have knocked out this community like some kind of Zombie apocalypse - it may be connected to the Dry Ice Disco one armed Bandit - but we cannot be sure).
I applied for a Aquaculture Worker role at the local prawn farm. It was advertised "Casual / Vacation", and when I called I was told they wanted to train somebody for a perm role - OMG, even advertising here is odd.
We have to remember ...
We'll pop back into the office at the camp today to progress. Seems they are looking for loads of people. Im looking at a Kitchen Hand role. It should be a laugh and we are looking forward to it.
No news from Toyota as yet - we did not expect so (see Translation Notes above), will follow up on Thurs. Things move very slowly around here.
Picked up the Rental car today, and while we were at the waterfall somebody backed out of the carpark into it ! - you just have to laugh at our luck really. However the guy that did it was upfront and very very sorry, the damage was minor and we had some witnesses also - so that should all be fine. He had the most massive truck.
Damage was small tho
The waterfall was spectacular and a massive walk for us. We burnt several zillion calories walking down and left our lungs somewhere on the path coming back up. Top marks to Allie, I was so impressed - she is a machine and just walked through the pain.
Below you can see the agony on her face as I rescued her from the wild Aussie bush.
We both now now have wooden legs ... and a new found sympathy for Pinocchio !
Allie got a phone call to work in the Caravan Park bar tonight, but sadly we were out of phone range at the falls and it was too late.
Should be able to pick up that opportunity tomorrow, and Im going to try and secure a kitchen hand role.
I suck at dishes ... so I'll put it to practice and kill people with bad hygiene I expect.
Some Waterfall and Track shots below (and awesome drone footage will appear in our upcoming video).
I took over 60 photos, so here are some of them.
