Well 8 days in Cardwell now, it been ok - we have really done a lot.
I will say it is very hard being in a campground watching people come in everyday returning from a great holiday up the Cape, or others who are heading that way - its a bit tortuous for us.
When I typed the heading as Cardwell Day 8, it felt sad we had missed 8 days of the Cape (and our greater trip back via Mt Isa), however I quickly realised how lucky we have actually been, what we have seen and done.
We really are starting to unwind a little as the mental stress of it all fades - in the hope of potential good news to come.
Today will be a rest day as evidenced below 😆
Allie will kill me when she sees this photo online, so if Im never seen again you all know what happened - just saying.
Tony got away earlier today and we exchanged numbers, so we'll get back in touch as we look to head to the Cape. It's so much better to share such a trip with good people.
Tomorrow we collect the rental car for the second block of 3 days of our total 6 day hire allowed under our RACQ Roadside Ultimate.
We think we will head to Wallaman Falls tomorrow - its a 170km drive into Girringun National Park and we are allowed 600km all up for the Wed, Thurs and Friday.
At 268 mtrs its Australia's longest single drop water fall, and there may be some short hikes nearby.
That pic is from the web, I hope to get some good ones. Will take the drone out.
Friday appears to be Tully Show day, so while the car wont be being looked at we'll head into Tully to partake.
Small task to get done, we may empty the fridge and give it a wipe out. Nice and Sunny so we got the sheets washed and on the line.
So not much other news today.
Sounds like you are getting very domesticated Darren. The falls look a great place to visit, and to think you would have missed all these places if you had just gone straight through Cardwell. So pleased Toyota have taken over your vehicle. That other chap at Cardwell sounded like he was a make do guy. Imagine paying all that money out and having no fall back. Also you could have been half way to Cape York and crapped out again. Enjoy your weekend. You never know you could be offered the camp managers job for a few weeks. Haha
