Cardwell Day 5

We Im not sure how to report on today - we are both exhausted and tired, yet we did not do too much.

Car

We tried to reach Toyota before they closed, but no reply. Will have to chase up on Monday as we had not heard back yet. I have found my receipts for the Injector service we had done in prep for the cape - so thats a good start ! - this odd bloke keeps any receipts over $50 in the cloud ! - wahooo for that.

Other Stuff

So we did half a day of activities then decided to blob from mid afternoon. Allie is tucked up in bed at 3PM watching a movie as I write this - good on her.
She is loving cooking with the Billy Boil (an idea I thought was stupid), it's really turned out to be amazing. She preps and makes dinner early in the day - we go and do stuff and arrive home to a restaurant quality hot meal. Its food magic (I suspect mostly due to the way Allie cooks actually).

Cold this morning, and there is quite a lot of wind and cloud. Warms up quite quickly tho.

We started out (on day 2 with the rental car) and decided to head to the famous Lucinda Jetty

Lucinda township is about 50kms from Cardwell. We had to stop twice while Sugar Cane trains rumbled slowly across the road. There are Billabongs and Croc signs EVERYWHERE !

Along the way we (I) noted that Jessies Pies was open - too good to resist we are told - so we stopped in to try.

Pie Rating 6 / 10 (although Allie says the Pasty is a 10).

(We also stopped at a lookout on the way but it was rainy).

Lucinda is the longest jetty in the Southern hemisphere and the longest of its type in the world.

The Jetty is a whopping 5.6 kms long !

Allie suggested we should walk it - but when we found it was locked off my relief could be heard at the other end !

There are a few other Jettys around the area also, so we did some photos and moved on.

Below are some random mood shots - they came out ok.

Had to stop for a Sugar Train along the way

We drove to Dungeness on the way home, has a piece of fish that was less than average (thinking I need to stick to the healthy stuff).
